In December 2016, Anna-Marie Vilamovska, (cohort '05) became one of the youngest recipients of a distinguished Polish medal.

According to the Polish government's website, Vilamovska "was awarded the Commander Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland for outstanding contributions to the development of Polish-Bulgarian cooperation."

"On behalf of the President of the Republic of Poland Krzysztof Krajewski, the Polish Ambassador to Bulgaria, remarked that Dr. Anna-Marie Vilamovska was a valuable partner and friend of Poland, who could be called the Goodwill Ambassador of the Republic of Poland," the news item continues.

Vilamovska recently finished her term as Secretary for Innovation Policy under Bulgaria’s former president, H.E. Rossen Plevneliev. She reports that she is now in Bulgaria’s second largest city and "happy leading Plovdiv’s 2017–2022 Education for Growth Strategy Development, and the 2017-2020 IT Talent Hub Bulgaria public private partnership of the Bulgarian IT Industry."

In the fall of 2015 she was selected as one of the New Europe 100 outstanding individuals leading world-class innovation by the Financial Times, Visegrad Fund, Google and ResPublica. She is one of the national leads in the EC eSkills and Digital Entrepreneurship Campaigns.
