Dear Pardee RAND Community,
Growing up during World War II, Fred Pardee yearned for peace among nations and a better human condition.
Fred passed away last month at the age of 89, and through his support of RAND, he truly left the world a better place.
A RAND Corporation researcher turned real estate investor, Fred provided the foundational gift that led us to rename the RAND Graduate School in his honor nearly two decades ago.
His legacy lives on through the incredible contributions of our students, researchers, and alumni—and through our shared commitment to his goal of seeking innovative policy solutions to the world’s greatest challenges.
With gratitude for all that Fred gave us,

Nancy Staudt
