At its meeting last week, Pardee RAND's Board of Governors thanked Pedro José "Joe" Greer for nearly 9 years of service as chair, and welcomed Jim Lovelace as the new chair. Although he stepped down as chair, Greer remains a vital member of the board, as well as a member of RAND's Board of Trustees.
"Joe has long been an anchor for the Board of Governors, providing a deep commitment to providing for others, exceptional integrity, and a much-appreciated sense of humor," Dean Susan Marquis said. "As chair and friend, Joe has been stalwart in his support and invaluable, gentle guidance."
As a token of the school's appreciation, Marquis presented Greer with a custom-made photo book highlighting his long history of involvemeent with the school and RAND.
Marquis added, "Welcoming Jim as chair is another gift to the school and the board. From the time we first met, Jim has offered tremendous insight on successfully working with boards and how to take full advantage of the expertise on the school’s Board of Governors.
"Jim’s exceptional financial expertise is essential as we move forward our fundraising campaign and investing in our students, new capabilities and capacity, and even capital expenditures to double the size of the school," she continued. "The long commitment of Jim and his wife, Anahita, to the school, leading by example, has made it possible to bring the redesigned school to life. I’ve now worked with three chairs, Don Rice, Joe Greer, and Jim Lovelace. I could not ask for better partners in leading Pardee RAND."
Below are a few photos included in the book presented to Greer.
