Research, Analysis, and Design Stream: Modeling Human Systems
This course covers the economic and management aspects of energy markets and the environment. The course includes discussions on different energy markets, the analysis of energy market data, the concept of hedging, and an introduction to basic mathematical/statistical tools to understand how energy markets work. The course addresses environmental aspects related to renewable energy and carbon markets. The course will have a practical approach first, theory will be discussed as needed, and suggested readings on theory and policy will be indicated. As much as possible, an international view will be included. The instructor may invite outside speakers on the topic as possible.
