Health Policy: Past, Present, and Future Challenges

Health policy and systems are one of the central issues for public policy in the modern world. Even without the attention from the COVID-19 pandemic, health policy combines political and public sensitivity, constant technical innovation and change, substantial costs, powerful stakeholders and complex systems, and these come together to make policy-making in health uniquely challenging. How well these health policy and systems challenges are managed has pivotal consequences for the long-term future of countries around the world.

This course will provide an introduction to these issues and their implications for wider public policy, taking a comparative approach and looking at different models and countries around the world.
