Introduction to Quantitative Analysis
The goal of this course is to provide students with foundational knowledge in quantitative analysis, emphasizing the principles of statistics and data analysis. The course will focus on essential statistical concepts and techniques used to collect, analyze, and interpret data, equipping students with the skills needed to make informed decisions based on empirical evidence. The course will highlight the practical application of statistical methods across various fields such as business, economics, and social sciences. Additionally, students will learn to use statistical software tools to manage and analyze data effectively. The course is designed to be interactive, encouraging students to engage in hands-on projects and data analysis exercises.
Students will also have the opportunity to present a data-driven research project on a topic of their choosing, applying the quantitative techniques learned throughout the course. By the end of the course, students will acquire a robust understanding of statistics and data analysis, ready to apply these skills in academic and professional settings.
Two sections of this course will be offered. James Fan will teach the Santa Monica section, and Elie Alhajjar will teach the Washington section.
